We Feed Because He First Fed

One of the clearest commands Jesus ever gave us was this:

feed the hungry.

Not argue with them.

Not preach to them.

Not correct them.

Just feed them.

Before theology, before doctrine, before sermons and songs — Jesus gave bread. He multiplied it. He broke it. He shared it. And He told us to do the same.

In Matthew 25:35, Jesus says:“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink...”

Then He explains something extraordinary: when we feed the hungry, we are feeding Him.

That’s why here at We Care, we believe the gospel should never arrive empty-handed.It should come with food. With blankets.

With care.

Especially when it comes to the children.

Because the Bible doesn’t just speak of children — it elevates them. It protects them. It places them at the very center of the Kingdom.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”Matthew 19:14

“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me.”Mark 9:37

These verses remind us that helping a child is not just a good deed. It is an act of spiritual significance.

It is Kingdom work.

So when we give food to a hungry family, or place a warm meal in the hands of a child, we are doing far more than charity. We are fulfilling a command. We are living out the gospel. We are building a bridge between hurt and hope.

And maybe — just maybe — that small act of love will open their hearts not just to bread, but to the Bread of Life.
